Here is a quick post to share some tree decorating tips that will help you fill up your tree.  First things first, your gonna need a tree.  Second, let’s talk ornaments for a second.  Ornaments can be made out of pretty much anything.  Really!  You don’t have to limit yourself to only prepackaged ornament sets.  Sometimes it just requires a little thinking outside the box.  I’m going to share some images with you of my main tree as an example to show you the items I use to fill my tree.  Hopefully, it will inspire you when you are brainstorming what to put in your tree.  So, back to ornaments real quick.  I purchased sets of three mirrors at Ross last year in the home decor department.  They were $6.99!  For a set of three!  Winning!!!

On a Hobby Lobby haul last year I found these 5×7 frames on clearance.  So I snatched up quite a few of them to put in my tree.  You can do so many things with frames.  You can fill them with prints, scripture, quotes, pretty wrapping paper, greeting cards, really so many things.  I filled my frames with print outs of Christmas Carol lyrics to go with our music themed tree.  Here is what they look like.

I found these cardboard music notes at Party City.  I think they came in a pack of eight or something like that.  I just set them among the branches throughout the tree.  Party Stores are a good place to find sets of things to fill your tree with which helps keep costs down when your are trying to fill up a tree.  Be sure to check out what they have that may work for you.  Dollar stores and the amazing Dollar Spot at Target are other great places to find multiples of items to fill your tree for cheap.

note

Thrift stores, Consignment Shops, Antique Stores, can be other places to score great finds to put in your tree.  Did you see the gold violins in my tree?!  I found those pretties in a furniture consignment store in town.  There were four of them.  I took them home and sprayed them with a fresh coat of gold spray paint and they were perfect and ready for the tree.  Don’t forget if you don’t like the color of something there is always spray paint.

I also buy some smaller ornaments to fill the tree after I’ve placed all the large items.  I follow them with ribbon, greenery and wreath sprigs (used to fill up wreaths).  Ribbon just really softens up the look of a tree and can be used to add a lot of color if that’s your thing.  Other items to consider to soften the look of your tree are fabric, paper, and scarves.  Let’s discuss another item to really polish and finish up your tree and that is the stand cover.  You have a lot of options for that… You can find all kinds of beautiful tree skirts, you could make your own, or you could wrap your favorite Christmas or fur throw around the stand.  Have you seen all the awesome stand covers that are all the rage now?!  Large crates, galvanized tubs, huge baskets?  I love them.  I just need storage room for them.  If this is your issue as well check out my previous post on a cheap, disposable, easy store option for a tree stand cover shown on my tree.  It offers a clean and sleek look.   Here is the link- http://www.beautifulineveryway.com/2016/11/diy-christmas-tree-stand-cover/ (pic below)
