Spring Tablescape

Easter is Sunday!  Here is a little inspiration for you all to browse through to get some ideas for your last minute Easter/spring tablescapes.  This is my Spring tablescape for this year.  I used a lot of stuff I had on hand didn’t spend too much to put it all together.  I bought the birds nests from Hobby Lobby, They came in a set of four and were $1.99.  See below on how too make your nests fuller and more realistic looking.  I also bought the white bird figurines from Hobby Lobby.  The gold silverware is from Target.  Don’t tell but its PLASTIC!  It comes as a 60 count set for $5.00.  My boys are notorious for throwing silverware away “accidentally” so I refuse to buy a nice gold set until they are older.  I also bought the blush napkins from Amazon $12.99 for a set of 10.  So I spent a total of about $25.00.

My dining room is a little difficult for me to photograph because of the huge amount of light that comes through the large window in there.  So you’ll have to over look some of the blur in some of the photos.

A closer look at the centerpiece of the table and those cute little white birdies from Hobby Lobby.  If you noticed the rabbit and the clock and it sparks thoughts of Alice and Wonderland, that was on purpose.  It’s one of my favorite childhood movies and makes me happy and it works for spring decor.  So why not?!

The next couple of pics are gonna show how I fixed up the plain nests from Hobby Lobby to make them more full.  Here is how they turned out.

Here is the nest as I bought it with the exception of the color of the eggs.  I removed them from the nest and painted them pink, gold, and white.  The original colors were rather dark and didn’t really work with my palette. Once the paint was all dry I glued them back to the nests with a hot glue gun.

Then I went outside in my yard and gathered some small twigs and spanish moss.  You can also buy this stuff at the dollar store or any craft store.  I then added and glued down the twigs and moss to each nest until they were the fullness and look I was going for.  Here is how they turned out.

Here is another pic of my spring table.  Hope you like it and it gets some ideas brewing for you.  Thanks for stopping by!
