Valentine’s Day Decor

Wow, it’s a month past Valentine’s Day and I am just now getting around to posting on my Valentine’s Day decor pics.  Better late than never I suppose. It’s all about the love anyways right (wink, wink)?  As you may have noticed I love to decorate for every and any holiday so Valentine’s Day decorating doesn’t get passed by over here.  I usually start putting up my Valentine’s decor in the middle to end of January that way I have a little while to enjoy it.

I went for a neutral look in our family room this year.  It really grew on me after awhile.  How about this banner!  I got it in the Target dollar spot last year its made out of wood so its pretty sturdy.  I love it! Those little white houses are from the Target dollar spot as well.  I bought them this past Christmas season as Christmas decor but they have been making their appearances for other occasions and holidays as well.

The living room got a whole different vibe with touches of red and lots of soft textures.  I got these heart pillows on sale from Target this year and that awesome heart wreath came from Micheal’s.  It wasn’t on sale but I had a 40% off coupon that I used on it.  Aren’t you guys thankful for coupons!?!?

A little pink eventually made it’s way into our family room to play with the neutrals.  I just couldn’t help it.  I love pink and if I can use it to decorate for a holiday I usually get a free pass from all the boys in this house.  So I have to get it in when I can.

This is my little office nook in our master bedroom.  It got a little spruce up for Valentine’s Day with the love hanger from the Target dollar spot.  Also with the Bible verse print (which is there year round).   On the other side of the room our friend Elliot got shown a little love also.

This is Elliot, his name is from the deer in the cartoon Open Season.  The boys helped name him and I thought it fit.  Elliot gets a seasonal makeover for almost every holiday.  He’s one of the first things I see in the morning when I open my eyes.  He always brings a smile to my face.

Ok, This isn’t really a decor item but it was a big hit with my boys who are never overly excited about Valentine’s Day.  It’s just a regular chocolate box cake doctored up with more eggs, milk and butter.  I used store bought icing because I was short on time.  I crumbled crushed Oreo’s over the top and added dollar store army men and hearts.  I printed a quick banner on card stock and glued it to two straws and inserted it to the cake. Such a fun idea for boys for Valentine’s Day.  I got the amazing idea for this cake from Michelle at Michelle’s Party plan it.  She put together a whole Valentine’s party for her boys with this whole theme.  It was super cute.  Check it out here.

Hope you all enjoyed our Valentine’s Decor and find some inspiration for next year.  Thanks so much for stopping by.
