You guys!!! I absolutely loathe grocery shopping! Like more than anything. In the past when we lived in Vegas I tried ordering groceries online from a few of the local stores that picked your groceries and delivered them to your home. The experience was ok but ultimately didn’t work out for me. Their sites were slow to respond, glitchy, and froze up easily. Which took forever for me to shop for my family of 6. Also, the stores usually charged a fee of about $10 to deliver which isn’t bad at all but when you add that onto the higher priced food listed for shopping online it increased my grocery bill 15-18%. Thats a lot for someone who is trying to shop within a budget. So, I decided to just continue to “rough it” and grocery shop my self with four boys in tow the usual way (life can be tough, lol). Fast forward to a few months ago when I discovered online grocery shopping isn’t dead. Really! The last two months or so I have been ordering our groceries online from Walmart. Walmart prices, no delivery fee, with no monthly cost. Super easy awesomeness! Walmart’s site is crazy easy to use and responds well. I order all my groceries at night when my kiddos go to bed. I have zero interruptions, can shop off my list and not forget anything, and I can save my order so if I want to order the same thing week to week I don’t have to input all the same items over again. I checkout online when I am finished and then select a pickup day starting with option of the very next day. They email me in the time frame I selected to tell me when my order is ready for pickup. Through the app on my phone I notify them when I am leaving my home to pickup my order. I park in one of the designated spots at my Walmart where they bring my order out and load it into my car. Seriously, miraculous!
You are gonna want give it a try. It is super easy! Start online at Walmart.com and click on the grocery pickup tab at the top of the page. Then enter your zip code to find out the nearest Walmart that does grocery pickup and follow their prompts. I believe you get $10 off of your first oder also. Here are some tips I have for ordering groceries online if you haven’t done it before.
- If you are super picky about your produce and meat you may not want to order these online. Also, they can only give you ranges for the amount of meat and produce you are buying usually something like 1-2lbs. So, if your looking for exact amounts it’s not gonna workout well for ya. I have had a pleasant experience so far with the meat and produce we have ordered from them. However, we don’t buy all of our meat and produce there. We usually buy in bulk at Costco or BJ’s and store it in our deep freezer.
- If they don’t have something you ordered online they will let you know at the time of pickup. They will bring you substitutions for your items missing which you can accept or deny curbside. My substitutions have been satisfactory so far.
- Walmart staff cannot accept tips. Which made me a little sad. However, if you get their name and do a quick survey online mentioning them and their service they get rewarded by the company. So take a minute to do that for them.
- Pick up early, I pickup at 9am when my Walmart is slower so I don’t have to wait. I’m sure you could ask the employees what time is best to pickup at your location.
Happy shopping my friends I hope this post is a help and makes your life and day a little bit easier. Thanks for stopping by
